The Brain & Mental Health Art Show is an annually occuring event organized by SfN Ottawa to help link the scientific and the mental health communities in Ottawa. The show further helps raise awareness and funds in support of local mental health charities. The Art Show is organized as a vernissage, or preview, allowing artists and guests to express their own experiences, feelings, and struggles related to the brain and mental. The show contains a diverse range of pieces from researchers and artists to community members and individuals with mental health issues.
Held in the Horticulture Building at Landsdowne, 0ur 2017 show was our most successful event to date! We raised over $5000 for Ancoura, a not-for-profit society that helps subsidize housing for individuals living with mental illness. We welcomed more than 400 guests, artists and judges.
