Welcome to the 2024/2025 year at the Society for Neuroscience, Ottawa Chapter in Canada’s National Capital. Our wonderful group of enthusiastic volunteers earned us the SfN Chapter of the Year award for 2018, and the CAN Outreach and Advocacy Award for 2019!
Last year, we delivered a host of Brain Awareness Week presentations to Ottawa area schools, and returned to the Canadian Science and Technology Museum with our Backyard Brain kits during March break. In May 2024, we held our annual Ottawa Brain Bee (Congratulations to the winner, Anya Sinha of Merivale High School!). Training sessions will be taking place leading up to the 2025 Brain Bee, so check out the page for more details. Last, but certainly not least, we held our annual Brain & Mental Health Art Show at the Glebe Community Centre! It was a rousing success, raising over $10,000 for Centre 507, a local organization that has served the community for over four decades.
