CMOS Seminar: Climate Change, Mental Health & Psychological Wellbeing

We’re excited to highlight an upcoming CMOS seminar featuring Dr. Stefania Maggi, Associate Professor at Carleton University in the Department of Psychology!

Dr. Maggi will present her work on the mental health impacts of climate change, examining both the acute psychological disorders linked to extreme weather events (e.g., post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression) and the more chronic effects of ongoing ecological stress, with a focus on eco-anxiety. Her talk will also highlight solution-focused strategies grounded in developmental science and positive psychology to foster resilience and wellbeing in the face of climate change.
