Brain Awareness Week NEEDS YOU – Call for Volunteers

Brain Awareness Week is March 4-8, 2019 in Ottawa! Once again, we are calling on our chapter members to help deliver presentations to Ottawa area Schools.  If you are a faculty member, contract instructor, postdoc, graduate student or in 3rd or 4th year Neuroscience, please consider volunteering with this fun and educational outreach activity.!  Each year this outreach connects us with hundreds of students who are eager to learn about the brain!

We also need volunteers for 2 hour shifts at the Canadian Science and Technology Museum during March Break for our interactive Backyard Brains demos (March 12-15). Please note that Carleton students can add their volunteer hours for BAW to their co-curricular record.

In order to be assured of a T-Shirt, please complete our  Volunteer Registration Form by February 1st, 2019.  We will be pairing volunteers with teacher requests as they come in.  Training will take place in the last 2 weeks of February.  If you know of a teacher who might be interested in requesting a presentation please send them to https://sfn-ottawa.ca/brain-awareness-week/
